From U.S. to Korea and Korea to U.S.: Licensing, Co-producing, Financing and Selling TV Content
International partnerships are becoming as crucial to the American content business as are directors and producers. This panel of top content executives will discuss and preview some of their current projects that involve Korea. Studios and production companies are looking to the foreign film model as a way to lower costs without jeopardizing the creation of innovative, dynamic and interactive content, and they’re recognizing Korea as one of the fastest growing markets and potentially a future market leader. Building on their experience of working with Korea, our panel also will predict opportunities to watch for in the coming years.

Special Report: Progress Update of G-Learning Project in the U.S.
Jong H. Wi, President, Content Management Institute, Korea/Visiting professor, CRESST, UCLA Online game merges with education! Last spring, Korea's advanced game-based learning (G-learning) model was introduced at Digital Hollywood. The G-learning expert Jong H. Wi reports the creation and execution of its first pilot program with U.S. public schools intended to help American students' math education with Korea's online game technologies.

Web Terminator 3.0: The Rise of the Apps?
Our collective understanding of the Web is morphing as social networks and online/mobile apps change how we engage with our connected world.  The Korea-US Vision Council invites you to participate in a challenging examination of this potentially disruptive evolution as we replace media hyperbole with real-world context.  Smartphone app demos will illustrate the discussion, showing promotions for two major Hollywood films that have strong Korean DNA.

Come learn the story of this groundbreaking Hollywood feature film--soon to be released in the US, Korea and around the world--that blends the best of both Korean and American cinema. Get the answers on how this production brought together Koreans and Americans to create a film designed to appeal to a global audience.

About the movie:"The Warrior's Way"
The Warrior’s Way, a visually-stunning modern martial arts western starring Korean actor Jang Dong Gun who plays an Asian warrior assassin forced to hide in a small town in the American Badlands. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns), Oscar®-winner Geoffrey Rush (Shine), Danny Huston (The Kingdom), and Tony Cox (The Hustle).The fantasy action film was written and directed by newcomer Sngmoo Lee, and is being produced by Barrie M. Osborne (Lord of the Rings), Jooick Lee (Seven Swords) and Michael Peyser (Hackers). MOFAC, one of Korea's leading studios, supplied many of the stunning visual effects. (Release Date: December 3, 2010)

Digital Hollywood is a bi-annual conference started in 1990 that brings together digital pioneers and entertainment professionals. Since 2008, the Korea Sessions have been a featured event. They are conducted by the Korea-US Vision Council (‘KorUS’), an alliance of entertainment and media professionals dedicated to facilitating collaborations between the two countries. The panels bring together leading Korean and US entertainment & media professionals for a dialogue about projects, challenges, successes and most of all, how we can learn to collaborate better.
